Something by Britt Harris

Something orange in his eye
somehow matched my evening sky
something warm yet standing by
led me in and hushed my cry

something soft about his step
brought me to and had me kept
polished glass and floors well swept
just one glance and so I leapt

subconsciously, so violently
attached my thoughts so overwrought
for he mannered me so amiably
with appropriate smiles and such clean tiles!

And surely he must be the key
the solvent to my misery.
