untitled by Monika Williams

What does one live for?

When life has lost its luster
And days are dulled with tedium

After age has touched a face once fair
And youth is but a distant dream

What does one live for?

After the ambitions of youth have long gone astray
And regrets taint memories once bright

Why does one continue?

While old bones beg for rest
And a weary soul yearns for peace
